Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice

Eurasian Journal of Business and Management (EJBM) follows the codes of conduct and international standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) which are available at http://publicationethics.org/.

Duties of Editors

Editors should …

  1. base their decisions to accept or reject a paper for publication upon the paper’s importance, originality and clarity, and the study’s validity and its relevance to the remit of the journal.
  2. support initiatives designed to reduce research and publication misconduct.
  3. maintain the integrity of the academic record.
  4. protect the confidentiality of individual information obtained in the course of research or professional interactions.
  5. take all reasonable steps to ensure the quality of the material they publish.
  6. assess the effects of their journal policies on author and reviewer behaviour and revising policies, as required, to encourage responsible behaviour and discourage misconduct.

Duties of Authors

Authors should …

  1. acknowledge that submitted work is original and has not been either published elsewhere in any language or submitted concurrently to more than one publication.
  2. present their results honestly and without fabrication, falsification or inappropriate data manipulation.
  3. describe their methods and  present their findings clearly and unambiguously.
  4. represent the work of others accurately in citations as well as quotation and clearly indicate the data, text, figures or ideas originated by other researchers.
  5. check their publications carefully at all stages concerning calculations, data presentations, typescripts/submissions and proofs to ensure that methods and findings are reported accurately.
  6. alert the editor promptly if they discover an error in any submitted, accepted or published work.
  7. disclose all sources of research funding, including direct and indirect financial support, supply of equipment or materials, and other support (such as specialist statistical or writing assistance).

Duties of Reviewers    

Reviewers should …

  1. only agree to review manuscripts for which they have the subject expertise required to carry out a proper assessment.
  2. provide journals with personal and professional information that is accurate and a true representation of their expertise.
  3. respect the confidentiality of peer review and not reveal any details of a manuscript or its review, during or after the peer-review process, beyond those that are released by the journal.
  4. avoid using information obtained during the peer-review process for their own or any other person’s or organization’s advantage, or to disadvantage or discredit others.
  5. be objective and constructive in their reviews, refraining from being hostile or inflammatory and from making libellous or derogatory personal comments.
  6. refrain from allowing their reviews to be influenced by the origins of a manuscript, by the nationality, religious or political beliefs, gender or other characteristics of the authors, or by commercial considerations.
  7. declare all potential conflicting interests, seeking advice from the journal if they are unsure whether something constitutes a relevant interest.

Open Access Policy

Eurasian Journal of Business and Management (EJBM) is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.

Copyright Policy

The Publisher will permit the Author to use the Article elsewhere after publication, including placement it on the author’s personal webpages, in other works or for the purposes of the Author’s teaching and research, provided acknowledgement is given to the Journal as the original source of publication. Although the author is permitted to use all or portions of their article in other works, this does not include granting third party requests for reprinting, republishing or other types of reuse. All third party requests must be handled by Eurasian Publications.

Article Retraction/Correction Policy

Editors aim to maintain the integrity of the literature and publish editorially significant corrections when needed. In such cases, the original articles will be removed and replaced with a note explaining the reason of retraction and with corrected version. If plagiarism is detected, the article will be removed from the journal entirely and replaced with a note stating authors’ names and description of plagiarism. Authors and their affiliations will be notified.
