Abstract
In a dynamic and fast-changing business environment, enterprises are obliged to improve and innovate their ways of doing business to maintain competitiveness and achieve better performance. Business model innovation is seen as a critical source of modern enterprises in achieving success, primarily through focusing on finding new models of generating revenue and value for customers. This study aims to empirically investigate the relationship between the dimensions of business model innovation (BMI), namely novelty-oriented and efficiency-oriented, and the business performance of large enterprises in a Southeast European developing country. By collecting data from 150 enterprises through a structured questionnaire, the hypotheses were tested utilizing the regression analysis. The results indicate that changes in any component of the business model, efficiency-oriented or novelty-oriented, have a positive and significant influence on the business performance of large enterprises. In striving to achieve above-average performance, enterprises can innovate their business models by reducing production and transaction costs or by developing new methods of economic exchange between various enterprise stakeholders and/or the surrounding environment. In conclusion, the research contributes to the existing literature by demonstrating that enterprises can enhance financial and non-financial performance by innovating the dimensions of business models.

The Interactive Impacts of Leadership, Organizational Climate, and Organizational Citizenship Behavior on Company Performance

DOI: 10.15604/ejss.2025.13.01.002
Abstract
This paper examines the interactive influence of organizational leadership, organizational climate, and employee-related factors on organizational performance (OP). It hypothesizes that while organizational leadership (OL) positively affects OP, this effect is mediated by the interactive influence of the organizational climate (OC), organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), and employee performance (EP). It uses Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to analyze data collected from Imperial Logistics South Africa. A total of 611 usable responses were obtained and analyzed using SmartPLS. Results indicated a strong direct relationship between OL and OP, more than that of other factors. The mediatory influence of OC, OCB and EP was investigated by analyzing the indirect effect, total effect, the variance accounted for (VAF) and the impact performance matrix analysis (IPMA). While mediatory effects were observed, OL remains the primary factor directly influencing OP. Interestingly, the impact of OL on EP is not direct but rather through the mediation of OC. While factors responsible for this unique direct influence of OL are not investigated, they likely relate to organizational size. Although leadership can be distant in large organizations, it shapes the workplace environment, enhancing strong OC mediation. Leadership should foster a positive environment to empower employees and boost OP’s impact.

DOI: 10.15604/ejbm.2025.12.01.003
Abstract
Studies on Bitcoin, a leading cryptocurrency, examine various aspects of its traits, the advantages and disadvantages of its usage, along with its potential to sustain relevance over time and rival conventional currency. Drawing from these points, this article seeks to offer a summary of cryptocurrency by examining the economic effects of Bitcoin through a comprehensive literature review. Through the analysis of peer-reviewed articles in academic databases, we aimed to distill and critically assess the viewpoints in the literature about the doctrinal foundation of Bitcoin, its economic traits, and its effects on society and the economy. In addition, this research provides the chance to assess the degree of comprehension regarding Bitcoin mining’s effects and then to explore the regulatory structures. The findings indicate that Bitcoin continues to be a favored asset in the economic landscape, despite its substantial energy consumption and adverse impact on the environment. Moreover, regulations in different nations indicate that Bitcoin is slowly achieving legitimacy, although it encounters some criticisms.

Abstract
The various environmental challenges facing organizations have heightened the potential for implementing green human resource management. This includes effective response to environmental issues and integrating sustainable business management practices. Consequently, this conceptual review aims to enhance the understanding of green human resource management (HRM) and its implications for organizations. Thus, a thorough review of the literature was conducted by searching for relevant research articles across various databases and search engines, including Web of Science, PubMed Central, Science Direct, and Scopus. The findings align with the review’s objectives, which focus on understanding contemporary management practices of green HRM and their implications for organizations. The review confirms that adopting a green approach to human resource management is crucial for organizations striving to achieve environmental sustainability. Additionally, the findings indicate that green human resource management can catalyze enhancing employee productivity while promoting environmentally friendly behaviors. Furthermore, practical implications posit that the implementation of environmental management processes within organizations is essential for promoting environmental awareness and sustainability among employees and stakeholders. This approach not only contributes to the establishment of a healthy work environment but also plays a significant role in reducing pollution and conserving natural resources.
